According to Incheon International Airport Corporation, which manages the airport, the problem began at around 4:30 a.m. and affected networks connecting airlines' ticketing systems, Seoul Economic Daily reported.
Eight airlines operating at Terminal 1 and five at Terminal 2 experienced repeated communication outages, Korea Herald reported.
The disruption left passengers unable to complete departure procedures, leading to congestion and lengthy queues at check-in counters.
The airport operator suspects the outage was caused by instability in ARINC, a U.S.-based global airline communications network used by the affected carriers.
